My mom has always loved Kate Spade and a couple of years ago she got me Kate Spade luggage, which I loved (and still love), but I didn't realize my true interest in her designs until I received several fabulous items of hers for Christmas this year. A wallet, an iPhone case, a skirt and more, and I absolutely love each item. Her designs are very clean cut and I used to clump that together with boring, but after this Christmas and visiting one of her stores, I found that it is actually the opposite. The designs, as well as her stores, are all so colorful, fun and overall the aesthetic of her designs and her stores are very inviting. I am officially a huge fan!

Party Girl
I absolutely love the holidays. It's a time to share with family and friends, drink hot chocolate, and wear glam clothes! I'm in love with the craze of sequins, lace, and velvet that are all on the rise this season, and what better time to show off your "party girl" style than the winter holidays. These are some of my favorite party dresses from Forever 21, but Madonna's line at Macy's has such an awesome "party girl" look as well.

"Living on the Edge"
I like to think that my style has a little edge in it and I think this picture is a perfect example. I'm wearing a Hurley black leather vest, a white sweater dress with mesh lines down the sides (I believe from Forever 21), black tights, leopard print oxford shoes from Urban Outfitters, and a blinged out silver ring from Urban Outfitters. (Again not the best quality of photo.)

JewelMint
I've recently discovered JewelMint. Amazing! It's a line of jewelry that Kate Bosworth and her stylist have created. You take a style quiz and each month they show you jewelry pieces which match your style. Also everything is thirty dollars! So this is one of my jewelry items for the month of December: "Trillon Earrings".
Outfit of the day
The image has to stay small otherwise it becomes extremely blurry, but this was such a fun outfit, I had to put it up. This outfit consists of: a black sequined t-shirt from Ann Taylor, an Urban Renewal patterned sweater from Urban Outfitters, light-wash ripped jeans from Urban Outfitters (worn with black tights underneath), and white oxfords with, I believe, crocheted sides, from Topshop.

Inspired by the Decades: 70's
Inspired by the Decades: 80's
I just had this imagine in my head of that crazy house party in Sixteen Candles and I thought how cool that would look as a background for a photo shoot. These are photos from the movie, 80's inspired clothes and modern day items that fit the theme. Who doesn't love a little 80's fashion?

Miss Matched
I am totally in love with this trend. Whether it be a leather jacket with gray sweatshirt sleeves and hood (Topshop), a green "military" jacket with leather sleeves (Urban Outfitters), or a denim jacket with leather sleeves, I want it. It's a genius creation because I love my denim jacket and I love my leather jacket, now I can have both.
Burberry
The campaign is old news, but I just recently realized my appreciation for it. This Burberry ad campaign was brilliant. I loved the mellow color scheme, the setting, the models, everything. But the item that really caught my eye was this gold twisted dress. I think it looks great on Emma Watson of course, and it gives the outfit a little bit of flair while paired the khaki colored trench coat and belt.

My Fashion Bible
I actually received this last Christmas but I took a break from reading it, and recently picked it up again. I'm just amazed at all of these successful people's journeys to the fashion industry and/or their current job. Everything sounds like a lot of work and dedication but absolutely worth it. I can't wait to one day be a part of it.

Obsessions
One of my new obsessions are sequins. I saw a sequined jacket in Teen Vogue in the summer and have been hunting for some sequined clothing ever since. I'm currently in Boston, so I went shopping on Newbury Street and happened upon my second new obsession: Marc Jacobs. Before now I had never actually stepped foot into a Marc Jacobs store. I left the store with three new items of clothing, a knit long-sleeved dress, a striped sweater, and this beautiful sequined sweater. The whole store experience was so amazing, it is decorated in such a funky-cool way and I wanted to buy practically everything. As Christmas rolls around in a couple months I might have to add some Marc Jacobs items to my wishlist.

Whitney Eve- Runway
Whitney Eve is Whitney Port's collection/clothing line. I think that Whitney did a very nice job of incorporating both edgy and "pretty", with rougher pieces as well as a soft color palette. All of her clothes are something that I would want in my closet. In the show The City, Joe Zee, of ELLE magazine, critiqued her and said that it wasn't really a collection, but a clothing line. I completely agree, these are items I can see in stores, but don't necessarily fit on runways.
ELLE Magazine
I hate to say it but sometimes TV can give you good perspective. After getting attached to the show The City, featuring Whitney Port, I had a new found respect for ELLE magazine. Prior to watching the show, I didn't have a lack of respect for the magazine, but I never thought twice about all the work that goes into the magazine. Of course that's how hard all magazines work, but ELLE is really on top of all the new fashion trends and I feel very comfortable relying on their magazine for the next best thing.

London Calling
I also did some shopping at the gift shop, Topshop, and H&M which resulted in this, "transition from winter to spring", outfit.
I'm currently visiting London and I decided to visit the Fashion Exhibit at the Victoria & Albert Museum. It showcased "fashion through the ages" and had some great fashion history on top designers/brands such as: Lanvin, Christian Lacroix, Giorgio Armani etc.
